The Lepas L4 small SUV debuted globally in 2025 as a premium addition to the Chery International portfolio. Built on the modular LEX platform, it launched locally in March 2026 to compete in the crowded compact crossover segment. The model positions itself above the standard Tiggo range by focusing on technology and a refined cabin experience for urban buyers.
The initial 2026 Lepas L4 range features 1.5-litre petrol engines, including a 108kW turbocharged option paired with a dual-clutch transmission. While the internal-combustion versions arrived first, the brand quickly expanded the line-up with the Lepas L4 EV. This electric variant was revealed at Auto China 2026, offering a 160kW front motor and a targeted driving range of approximately 500km.
In its home market and other regions, the model is often recognised as a rebadged second-generation Chery Tiggo 5. It features a portrait-oriented 13.2-inch touchscreen and a full suite of advanced driver-assistance systems. This model serves as the entry point for the Lepas brand, sitting below the larger L6 and L8 SUVs in the global line-up.
