My 2003 Hyundai Getz brake lights won't turn off

This is probably a case of a bad brake light switch inside the car (usually attached to the brake pedal mechanism itself). These switches can fail in the on or off position, leaving you with either no brake lights at all, or the problem you now have.

The good news is that it’s not a tough thing to fix, nor should it be expensive. The average mechanical workshop should be able to do it, and the new switch should be readily available from auto parts stores and online.

Hyundai Getz 2003: Gutless reverse gear?

IF IT'S a manual it might be a case of getting the right balance of engine revs and clutch slip. If it's auto it might just be a case of applying the right amount of revs to keep the engine firing. As for the doors, lower the window slightly and the doors will close more easily. The Getz has a small cabin and closing the door compresses the air inside. Lowering the window allows the air to escape as you close the door.
