This is what Laura Berry liked most about this particular version of the GWM Tank 500: Great value for money, Spacious and practical, Long warranty
The 2025 GWM Tank 500 carries a braked towing capacity of up to 3000 Kg, but check to ensure this applies to the configuration you're considering.
The GWM Tank 500 2025 prices range from $54,890 for the basic trim level SUV Lux Hybrid to $79,530 for the top of the range SUV Vanta Hybrid.
The interiors of both grades in the Tank 500 range look opulent, not to mention well laid-out and functional. Trim is either synthetic leather (Lux) or genuine Nappa leather (Ultra) and beyond ample soft-touch surfaces there's much to like about the GWM Tank 500's practical and comfortable cabin.
The Tank 500 is available in four Colors: 'Marble White' (standard), 'Crystal Black', 'Onyx Silver' and 'Dune Gold'.
The Tank 500 is a petrol-electric hybrid. A 2.0-litre petrol engine is combined with an electric motor for an overall output of 255kW/648Nm. Transmission is a nine-speed automatic.

The Tank 500 is a seven-seater SUV with a 2-3-2 configuration. You’ll find synthetic leather on the entry-grade Lux and genuine Nappa leather upholstery on the top-grade Ultra.
The law is pretty clear when it comes to problems like this. It is the manufacturer’s responsibility during the warranty period to make everything that’s standard on the vehicle (and not an aftermarket accessory) work again at no cost to the owner. But, the owner must give the manufacturer a reasonable chance to do that. Often, that process will take time and everybody has to be patient. You could ask for a replacement car while yours is being investigated if the dealership needs to keep it for an extended period.
Also, battery failure is not normally covered by a new-car warranty as, like tyres and brake pads, the battery is considered a wear and tear item. However, if it’s the faulty alarm or something wrong with the vehicle that’s constantly flattening the battery and causing it to fail, I’d be pushing for the warranty to cover that as well.
Unfortunately, modern cars are very complex machines and your experience is far from uncommon, with many owners of various makes and models reporting multiple problems in the one brand-new vehicle.

From what I can gather, this is a standard feature of the Tank 500. The beep is to let you know the car has been locked, even if you’re in a position where you can’t see the lights flash (also to confirm locking).
It’s probably possible to turn this feature off via the menus on the infotainment screen. If you don’t like this beeping feature, it’s a fair bet your neighbours don’t either.

Stepping up to the Ultra brings power sidesteps, a panoramic sunroof, Nappa leather upholstery, ventilated front seats with massaging function, a 12-speaker Infinity sound system and a head-up display.
The Tank 500’s boot has a cargo capacity with all seven seats up of 98 litres and with five seats in place you have 795 litres of volume.
The Tank 500 has a 0-100km/h time of 8.3 seconds and a top speed of around 180km/h.
The range of the tank 500 is approximately 940km. That's in theory. In our own testing fuel economy was higher than GWM's official figure of 8.5L/100km. The Tank 500 has an 80-litre fuel tank and takes 91 RON 'standard' fuel.
