I would suggest you start with Vicroads, but if that doesn't work try companies producing accessories for the Ranger, companies like Pedders or ARB.

Ford Ranger dual-cab overrunning

We have had very few reports of problems with the Ranger, and we have had none about the automatic gearbox. No doubt your dealer would be able to diagnose the problem and fix it for you.

Ranger, Amarok, Navara or Colorado?
Answered by Paul Gover · 25 Aug 2014

The Ranger gets The Tick and is a clear winner from the Amarok. The all-new Navara is not even close. But we're expecting a new Mitsubishi Triton and Toyota HiLux in the first half of 2015, so check back nearer then.

Which dual cab ute should I buy?
Answered by Paul Gover · 07 Oct 2014

The new HiLux and Triton will arrive in the first half of next year. If you're planning a five-year run for your new ute it would be worth waiting to see how the pecking order changes once they're in place.

Towing with a dual-cab ute?
Answered by Carsguide.com.au · 24 Nov 2014

It's too early for a reliability read on classy utes such as the Ford Ranger/Mazda BT50 and VW Amarok, which with their lusty turbo diesels are great for heavy work.

PJ Ford Ranger engine failure
Answered by Graham Smith · 20 Jun 2014

A lack of oil is the most likely explanation, although it could also have been caused by a manufacturing defect. At this point all you can do is what you have done, and that's to write it off to experience.

Driver's seat on 2013 Ford Ranger
Answered by Carsguide.com.au · 01 Dec 2014

Good news from Stephen Kruk, general manager of Ford Australia's customer service division, who says: "We will have a service fix released before the year's end." I've been agitating and yours will be one of the first Rangers to get the fix.

2013 Ford Ranger rattle
Answered by Graham Smith · 24 Jan 2014

It's likely to be a fuelling issue, so check the fuel pump and injectors. Common-rail diesels often have issues with the injectors as they wear. To get a better reading on it I would suggest taking it to an experienced diesel mechanic.

Ford Ranger PX 4WD ute excessive sealant
Answered by Carsguide.com.au · 20 Dec 2013

Excess sealant suggests sloppy workmanship. You might like to mention it to your dealer and suggest they disassemble the diff and put it back together without excessive sealant that could cause issues down the track, or you could let it go and hope it doesn't cause any problems later on. If it was the engine I would want to fix it, but in the case of a diff I'd be tempted to report it in case something does develop in the future, and let it go.

Right now, with the HiLux set for a total replacement in the first half of next year, the Ford and Mazda are the better choices and get The Tick. Ford developed the car but shoppers report better deals on the BT-50.
