Set to be unveiled at Frankfurt motor show next week, the Skoda MissionL is a small sedan that will spearhead a model onslaught from the brand.
The MissionL is a further step on from the VisionD concept revealed at Geneva motor show, with similar lines around the rear.
However the new concept is closer to production, and points to a car that will join the line-up in between the VW Golf-based Octavia and Fabia.
It carries the Skoda family grille, and has a liftback boot that should offer versatile space in line with the brand's bid to position itself as 'simply clever'.
Further details will be revealed at the Frankfurt show, but Skoda has already signaled a future model push.
"Revealing the look of our new compact model, the MissionL shows exactly the direction our brand is going to take," Skoda board chairman Dr Winfried Vahland says.
"The world premiere in Frankfurt gives a clear signal that Skoda is going full steam ahead now. We are going to present a new vehicle every six months over the next two or three years."
