Arrington (54), owner of Dodge-MOPAR specialist engine developer Arrington's Engines in Virginia, this week has been treated for two stab wounds and released from hospital.

He told police his ex-girlfriend, Katherine Elaine (Kathy) Mullins (37), came to his residence. An altercation started which ended with Arrington being stabbed and his personal property being damaged.

Police located Mullins' wrecked, Chrysler 300 a short distance from Arrington's home.

Mullins, also of Martinsville, Virginia, has been charged with malicious wounding and has been charged and released on $3500 bail.

Another NASCAR driver, Chevrolet's Tony Stewart, in 2008 donated money to buy 30 bulletproof, stab-proof vests - each valued at $895 - to police dogs in five states.
