Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross 2018 pricing and specs confirmed

The Eclipse Cross medium SUV is exclusively powered by a 110kW/250Nm 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine.

Mitsubishi Motors Australia (MMAL) has rejigged its Eclipse Cross medium SUV range, adding a new entry-level ES variant and increasing the price of its mid-spec LS variant.

The high-rolling five-seater, which was launched locally in January, is now offered from $29,990 plus on-road costs with the new base ES variant, while pricing for the LS has gone up by $1490 to $31,990.

However, the higher-spec Exceed and the range-topping Exceed AWD stay true at $36,000 and $38,500 respectively.

Standard equipment on the new base variant includes 18-inch alloy wheels, a six-speaker sound system, roof spoiler and smartphone connectivity.

Safety-wise, the vehicle is equipped with forward collision mitigation (FCM), seven airbags, hill start assist, auto high beam, LED daytime running lights, front foglights and a reversing camera.

“The Eclipse Cross ES makes a very desirable package with Mitsubishi’s eye-catching styling combined with the latest in vehicle audio and infotainment systems, sophisticated interior design and advanced safety,” said MMAL chief executive officer John Signoriello.

As before, the Eclipse Cross is powered exclusively by a 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine that delivers 110kW/250Nm.

Power is managed by a continuously variable transmission (CVT) with Sport mode, manual override and paddle shifters, and put to the ground via either a front-wheel-drive or all-wheel-drive drivetrain.

The vehicle is covered by Mitsubishi’s five-year/100,000km warranty and service intervals are 15,000km or 12 months.
