Genesis has given its most popular car in Australia a fresh update, with the 2025 GV70, coming with new tech, new variant options and steeper pricing.

Starting from $78,500 before on-road costs, the entry grade Genesis GV70 is now $8000 more expensive than before, but is a much higher specification. Pricing now creeps up to $100,000 for the top variant, which used to be a $92,200 offering.

Previously, the GV70 was available as a rear-wheel drive variant powered by a turbocharged 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine. Now, the base model is all-wheel drive and is called the GV70 Advanced.

Two higher variants, Signature and Signature Sport, are available with the same engine or a turbocharged 3.5-litre V6 engine which is also carried over from before the update.

Key updates to the GV70 include the addition of a large 27.0-inch screen unit that incorporates the driver and multimedia displays as seen in the GV80’s update and in some other Kia and Hyundai vehicles.

Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are also now included, while a climate control touch screen and over-the-air (OTA) updates round out the key interior tech changes.

A series of safety improvements have also been made across the range including driver monitoring and uprated highway and lane assist, plus improved collision avoidance and navigation-based smart cruise control.

Stepping up from the Advanced to the Signature ($87,500 with the 2.5 four-pot or $98,000 with the V6) adds a Bang & Olufsen sound system, second-row climate control and a scent diffuser and an Intelligent Front-lighting System for the LED headlights.

The V6-equipped Signature also gets ‘Preview’ suspension control which predicts road surfaces and adjusts accordingly, an electronic limited-slip differential and adjustable suspension modes.

The top-spec Signature Sport ($89,500 with the four-cylinder, $100,000 with the V6) adds styling changes like dark chrome, larger air intakes, sports seats and a sports steering wheel, as well as having visible dual exhaust tips.

The new GV70 is available to order now in Australia.
