Ford Mustang 2019 pricing and spec confirmed

Mustang gets a boost in price and spec for 2019.

Ford Australia has announced full specification for the 2019 Mustang, following confirmation of pricing for its six-variant pony car pantheon earlier this year.

The V8 versions, costing from $62,990 to $74,338, are already in showrooms, but the overdue four-cylinder 'EcoBoost' variants are now set to join them, starting from $49,990 for the turbocharged six-speed manual Fastback.

Stepping up to the 10-speed automatic pushes the price to $52,990, while the auto-only convertible costs $59,490.

All Mustangs are also now fitted with an active variable exhaust system with 'Normal', 'Quiet', 'Track' and 'Sport' modes.

The 2019 Mustang EcoBoost is powered by a turbocharged 2.3-litre four-cylinder engine producing 224kW/441Nm.

All 5.0-litre V8 GT variants remain the same, coming in at $62,990 for the base Fastback manual, $65,990 for the automatic and $74,338 for the auto-only convertible.

Engine outputs of the V8 are rated at 339kW/556Nm.

Standard features on the base car now includes full LED front lighting, LED tail-lights, 19-inch alloy wheels, revised interior materials, 12-speaker B&O audio system, digital dashboard, 8.0-inch multimedia screen featuring Apple CarPlay & Android Auto, as well as digital radio (DAB+) and a reversing camera.

On the safety front, all Mustang variants now include Auto Emergency Braking (AEB) with pedestrian detection, Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Lane Keep Assist (LKAS) and adaptive cruise control. Although despite these improvements, the car was awarded a three-star ANCAP safety rating in June.
