Ford Focus 2019 pricing and specs confirmed

The all-new fourth-generation focus will start from $25,990 and feature a higher standard spec than the model it replaces.

Ford Australia has confirmed Australian retail pricing for its new-generation Ford Focus for 2019.

The fourth-generation Focus is new from the ground-up and will start from $25,990. It features Auto Emergency Braking as standard across the range.

All three Focus variants will be fitted with a new 1.5-litre turbocharged three-cylinder EcoBoost engine producing 134kW/240Nm, up 2kW over its four-cylinder predecessor. All are also fitted with the same eight-speed automatic transmission.

All Focus variants at launch will be powered by the same 1.5-litre three-cylinder engine, although the luxury Vignale and crossover-style Active (both seen left here) will not be available in Australia for the time being.

Starting the range at $25,990 is the Focus Trend which has 16-inch alloy wheels, LED DRLs, automatic headlights and rain-sensing wipers, auto-dimming rear-view mirror, leather trimmed steering wheel, an electronic park brake, an 8.0-inch touchscreen supporting built in sat-nav, DAB+ Bluetooth connectivity as well as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and backed by a six-speaker audio system.

Standard on the safety front at Trend level is 'Auto Emergency Braking' (AEB), 'Lane Keep Assist' (LKAS) with 'Lane Departure Warning' (LDW), 180-degree reversing camera, rear parking sensors and ISOFIX child-seat mounting points.

Moving up to the ST-Line at $28,990 adds 17-inch alloy wheels, sports suspension with a 10mm lower ride height, LED fog and taillights, auto-folding heated wing-mirrors, dual-zone climate control, keyless entry and push-start, Qi (Chee) wireless phone charging, a tyre-pressure monitoring system and a slew of ST-Line specific aesthetic trim.

The ST-Line is also the only Focus variant available as a wagon at a $2000 premium. The wagon gains roof-rails and a tonneau cover over its hatch sibling, with a 1653-litre max storage capacity.

The ST-Line will be the only variant locally available as a wagon.

Stepping up to the top-spec Titanium adds 18-inch alloys, fully adaptive LED headlights, six-way power adjustable driver’s seat, leather seat trim with heated front seats, Bang & Olufsen premium nine-speaker audio system and variable internal LED lighting.

On the safety front, the Titanium also adds active cruise control with stop and go function, 'Blind Spot Monitoring' (BSM), 'Rear Cross Traffic Alert' (RCTA) and ‘Evasive Steer Assist’.

The Titanium can be optioned to add a head-up display ($300) and the ‘Active Park Assist 2’ auto-parking system ($1000).

The ST-Line can also be optioned to add LED lighting and a sunroof.

The ST-Line and Titanium variants can optionally add a sunroof ($2000), the ST-Line can add the Titanium’s LED lighting pack ($1800) and all variants can add premium paint at $550.

Missing is dynamic damping available on the European-spec Vignale which the Titanium replaces locally.

All new Focuses will be covered by Ford’s recently-updated five-year/unlimited kilometre warranty and are expected to hit dealerships in December.
