I took delivery of a new Kia Cerato hatch on March 7. A couple of days later in bright sunlight, I noticed the front and rear bumpers were a pearl white and the rest of the car was the clear white we had ordered. Kia Australia inspected the car a couple of weeks later and agreed, but wanted to respray the bumpers until I said no. After much negotiation and many, many calls it was decided this week they will remove bumpers from a new car of the correct colour and install on our car. Should I be compensated for this obvious error which must have happened at the factory and got through all their quality control checks, even at the dealer? I did ask for a new car but naturally they said No.
I can understand your frustration but Kia is — eventually — doing the right thing and has no obligation to make any compensation.
