Holden Commodore 2007: Timing chain issues

From the first week I purchased my new 2007 Commodore SV6 I started to have trouble with the engine warning light coming on and then and going into safety mode. The dealer was unable to find any faults, and it still continues. I have now been told that the timing chain needs replacing at a cost of around $2500. Over the years I have had a computer upgrade at my expense because of power loss at certain times. I have been now told that the timing chain issue has been a problem with the SV6 since 2006 and should have rectified by a recall early on. Do you know if this has been a problem with this model and should Holden wear the cost.

We have heard of reports of stretched timing chains on the V6 Holden engine. We are aware that Holden has replaced some timing chains under warranty; so lodge a claim with Holden requesting they pay for the cost of the replacement.
