Rust on bonnet

Rust is now evident on the front edge of the bonnet on my 2007 Ford Territory Ghia Turbo. Ford has a 5-year warranty on perforation and the dealer has approached Ford Australia on two occasions to cover this, but they refused. The vehicle has been fully garaged at all times and has only done 56,000 km. It was three months out of warranty when reported, but rust does not just "suddenly" appear. I'm told it is in need of a new bonnet and it will cost about $2500 in total. I have bought four vehicles from this dealer over the years, and believe they should stand by me in this situation. What do you think?

Rust like yours was a regular problem with the Territory, but you need to have a close look at what is actually covered under the "perforation" protection. If the panel isn't perforated, as I suspect, you're probably not covered. But that shouldn't stop you from pursuing Ford for a new bonnet.
