MY VX Series II Commodore has the same fuel-gauge problems others have reported in the Carsguide, but unlike them I've had no luck with Holden customer help. After many phone calls the end result is I take my car to my local dealer and have the fuel sender removed from the tank. If a manufacturing defect is found, Holden will look at my claim again. With so many complaints, it is clearly a manufacturing problem. What else could it be?
YOU'RE probably right and it is a faulty fuel sender, but Holden has told you they will consider your claim once it's found that yours is a problem, so they have in fact come to your aid. Do what they have requested you do and you should be taken care of, if, as you believe, your fuel sender is faulty.
