Replacing my 96 Pulsar?

I know nothing about cars. I'm a 60-year-old female and planning to buy my first new car. For the past 10 years I have been driving a second-hand 1996 Nissan Pulsar. I don't drive far so I want a small automatic car costing about $15,000.

The latest VW Polo, which gets The Tick from me, has a drive-away price of $15,990 for a very classy little car. It will be a huge leap ahead of your old Pulsar.
