We bought a new Renault Scenic RX4 last year and almost immediately noticed a front-suspension knock over slight undulations. I also think the front suspension is too soft, causing it to bottom out over speed humps at normal speeds. The unofficial response was that Renault was aware of the problem and was waiting on a solution from France. Renault said it was because the shock absorbers were oil filled, rather than gas filled. That was about nine months ago. I have contacted Renault customer service several times and supplied it with a copy of my written complaint. I have had two return e-mails promising contact from our dealer in a week or so. That has not happened.
I understand from Renault the dealer has been in contact with you with a view to having the shocks on your car replaced. Renault says a handful of vehicles were affected by the problem you describe and that it's easily remedied by replacing the shock absorbers.
