I bought a 2005 Nissan Patrol less than two months ago from a Holden dealer. In the first week I noticed a few problems. The oil light stays on, the seat wobbles, and the engine shakes a bit more than it should. I took it back and they had it for a whole day to fix nothing and tell me they need to get parts. They said they'll call the next day to re-book the car in to get it fixed, but I never received a call. I went back and asked about it, but they still had not received the parts and they said they would call me again. Still there was no call. I have now figured out that the shake was due to the engine mounts being flogged out. They sold me a car with stuffed engine mounts. My statutory warranty ran out not that long ago and I know they won’t cover it under normal warranty, or will they?
You need to talk directly to the dealer and explain that you believe they have sold you a car with defective engine mounts and ask that they replace them for you. Even though the warranty has expired they might be willing to fix the problem on the basis of goodwill, but you will only know that if you talk to them.
