I BOUGHT a Holden Captiva in May and have travelled 15,000km since. I have a number of problems with the car. One is a clunk in the front suspension whenever you turn left. My dealer had the vehicle for a week, but within a few days the clunk was back. The other problem is the turbo lag that is downright dangerous. The vehicle bogs down so much you have to take your foot off the accelerator and then push down slowly. No good if you are trying to get across a busy three-lane road. Will the ``DB chip'' help my problem and get rid of most of the turbo lag. The best fuel economy I've got is around 9 litres/100km, not the 8.5 litres/100km Holden states in its brochures. Can you help?
THE clunk could be in the driveline, but I suspect that's what the dealer has tried. Go back and ask them what they actually did, and what they next plan to do to fix it. I take it you mean an aftermarket chip when you say a "DB'' chip, but it sounds like there is something amiss with your car that needs to be sorted before resorting to the chip. If there is a problem, the chip won't fix it. You should be happy with the fuel economy -- it's within a bull's roar of the Holden claim. The Holden figure is derived from a non-real-world lab test and is done so people thinking of buying a car can compare its fuel economy with other makes and models.
