My wife ran off the road in our 2008 Nissan Navara STX and hit a bump - never hit anything else - and the car broke in half. We have owned the vehicle since new and it has never been in an accident. Our insurance company has declined to fix the chassis as they say they don't repair faults in chassis. I have been told that you have had some other problems with Navara chassis reported to you. I would really like to contact those people so I can take it to the Department of Infrastructure and Transport. I see this as a major problem with the Navara.
We haven't had any other reports like yours, which shows major cracking of the chassis, enough to make the vehicle a write-off. The best course of action for you is to consult an engineer who could carry out an assessment of the failure and hopefully determine what caused it.
