I took my 2009 Mazda 3 to my dealership to have the 60,000km service done, and to find the reason the ABS warning light was permanently on. They quoted $1800 to have it fixed. As I am a widow I am asking what I should do?
There's no option but to fix whatever is wrong with the ABS system, without doing that the system won't be working and your braking is affected. Without knowing what is wrong with it it's hard to comment on the quoted cost of repairs. To save some money you could go to an independent mechanic, or a brake specialist.
