It was with great interest that I read in the Cars Guide a complaint of Captivas pulling to the left. I drive a 2008 Captiva LX that has now done 58,000 km and it has pulled to the left from day one. I have regularly raised the issue with my Holden dealer, but have never received a satisfactory explanation. Tyre retailers I spoke with were more than forthcoming, letting me know that the Captiva was well known to have poor tyre wear, which was a result of the alignment. One retailer suggested one of their clients only got about 25,000 km from a set of tyres. I have also spoken to other Captiva owners and they also confirm they have the problem. It amazes me that Holden fobs the issue off, that in their complaints system has no record of the problem. I would urge all Captiva owners to lodge complaints directly with Holden so that they come to understand the magnitude of the problem and do something about it.
I would also urge owners who have the same problem with their Captivas to contact Holden and register their concerns. There is little doubt that the Captiva has a problem with wheel alignment that results in rapid and uneven tyre wear.
