Holden Captiva: Sat nav issues

Our new Holden Captiva 7 Series 2 tdi has had to be taken back to the dealer in twice in the three weeks we have owned it to fix the satellite navigation system. It was found that it needed a patch harness which should have had been fitted in production. As a result the dash, steering wheel etc. has had to be completely pulled apart. Even worse the car was given back in poor condition with hair wax on the windscreen and boot scuff marks all on the door trims. But then when I drove it home it wouldn't guide me to Melton without going through Melbourne. The dealer picked it up and replaced the maps, which were out of date. I am not impressed and would like to ask Holden to provide some extra extended warranty or limitless warranty because the car has been played. What do you think?

I don't think you've got much of a claim. While it's disappointing, and frustrating to have problems with a new car, Holden has corrected the problems. As such it has done what it is required to do, and your car is covered by the existing new car warranty, which would address any problems that might crop up in the next couple of years. I do think, however, that you have cause to complain to the dealer about the condition the car was in when returned to you.
