Toyota HiLux 2007: Problems overheating

Asked by Garry Davies

My 2007 Toyota HiLux SR-5 Diesel auto has overheated many times, and I got same answers from Toyota that Peter Shanahan got. I have had a cooler installed by Gardner Automotive Airport West, and also use third gear when I come to a hill. When my auto light came on, it was too late, as it had already overheated.

Fitting an external oil cooler to your auto is a good safety measure when you're doing a lot of towing, and shifting down a gear before you get to a hill is also good driving practice.
