Ethanol option

CAN I safely run ethanol blend petrol in my 2004 Nissan Maxima? Nissan told me it was safe, but wouldn't put it in writing.

I WOULD accept Nissan's advice that it is safe to use a blend with 5 or 10 per cent ethanol.
