Driver's seat wearing out too quickly

I have a 2012 Ford Territory Titanium which I have owned since new, and always had serviced by a Ford dealer.

The leather on the side of both front seats has split/torn from the movement of the cushion as people climb in and out of the car. When I contacted my local dealer regarding the issue I was referred to the Ford Customer Relations Centre. CRC have today come back to me and stated that this issue is considered to be normal wear and tear for a vehicle of this age. I have never on any other vehicle faced this issue and feel it is very poor that a manufacturer considers it normal wear and tear when fabric on a seat fails in less than 6 years.

In your opinion am I being unreasonable?

Without being able to see the extent of the wear and tear I can’t say, and there are so many things that can affect the wear on trim. In my view you won’t get anywhere with Ford on this issue.
