Diff-icult Nissan Navara

I can add to the Frank Kinninmont's Nissan diff story. I only managed to do 2010 Nissan Navara D22 before the diff broke down. That was annoying enough, but to then I have to wait a month and three days until it was repaired because there were no replacement diffs in Australia was completely unacceptable. According to Nissan it was unacceptable that they should incur the cost of flying in a diff, but perfectly ok for me to wait over one month and postpone my intended trip north for that time. I initially bought the Nissan because it had a good reputation, but I assure you this reputation is truly floored and it is the first and last Nissan I will ever buy from such a self-centred, uncompromising company.

I would expect a carmaker to have a new diff on hand to replace a broken one in a matter of a day or two at most; to have to wait more than a month is unacceptable and I can understand your frustration. I suspect that Nissan has cut back on parts inventory because of the global financial meltdown, but that doesn't in any way excuse them for what is clearly the shabby treatment you received.
