It seems I am another member of the 2010 Cruze club for owners with a dodgy transmission. I purchased the car secondhand in 2014; it had complete Holden dealership logbook servicing and was immaculate. Since owning it I have continued to have it serviced at the Holden dealership, the most recent service was two weeks ago. Now my car will not engage drive or forward gears, reverse still engages, but no drive. After seeing other reports of the same problem, I contacted Holden’s head office and raised a case. I have a case manager, but at this stage they have not promised anything. I have to tow it to my Holden dealer for assessment and pay to have it assessed, with possible reimbursement pending what they find. What is the likelihood of Holden fixing this problem? It’s really disappointing to have a car fully serviced at the Holden dealership, relatively new, and in seemingly great condition to now have this issue.
I agree that it is frustrating for such a new car to be troubled in such a way, but I expect Holden will fix it. The company has been pretty good at repairing or replacing faulty transmissions in the Cruze once it has been established that the transmission is the problem. Do as Holden requests, have it towed to your dealer for assessment. I am confident it will work out for you.
