I HAVE been a panelbeater for 30 years and never have I seen so much rust in near-new cars as on the Territory. Ford is repairing them under warranty at a cost in excess of $2000 a car. One, less than two years old, was so bad it was written off. The painter who fixes them told me if the car got wet it would rust. Owners should look at the beaver panel under the rubber, under sill moulds, at the rear of the front skirts under the bonnet -- the list goes on.
WE'VE had questions about rust in the Territory, particularly in the engine bay and around the fuel filler, where there is insufficient paint coverage, but your experience suggests it goes beyond these areas.
