WHEN I put my 2004 Ford Territory in for brake-hose replacement I was told the bottom balljoints were worn. The car has done only 30,000km and never been off-road. Because the warranty had expired I was told I'd have to pay for the repairs, but after a few calls to the service manager the job was done for labour cost only ($300). Should there also be a recall for balljoints, and on what basis would this be done?
THERE should be a recall on the Territory to replace the front balljoints. Such wear at 30,000km is an indictment on Ford's engineering standards, testing regimen and quality control. Also, the inconsistent approach by different dealers is incomprehensible.
