Holden captiva 2007: Transmission light on dash

My 2007 Holden Captiva 3.2-litre V6 petrol showed a gearbox symbol on dash. The garage reset it, but if it happens again it needs a new timing chain. How is this and why should it need a new timing chain, the car has only done 48,000 km?

The gearbox light you mention is a mystery to us, not sure what light you’re talking about, but it’s most unlikely that you need a new timing chain. If you’re concerned about it take it to a Holden dealer and have it checked.
