WE WERE told by the dealer staff that the new Nissan Navara 2.5-litre ST-R we recently bought didn't have anti-skid brakes, but after a couple of weeks of driving it I noticed one of the warning lights was staying on for a few seconds after the engine started. On checking the manual I discovered it was the ABS check and it was normal. I consulted the service department and was told this model did not have ABS, but a telephone call to Nissan confirmed that it does indeed have ABS as stated in the manual and on the manufacturer's website.
YOU would like to think the people servicing your car are up with its specifications, but sadly sometimes that's not always the case. As you've discovered, and Nissan has confirmed, your Navara does have anti-skid brakes standard. It's always a good idea to do the research before buying a vehicle.
