The Abarth 500e was launched in 2022 as the brand’s first fully electric model. Based on the Fiat 500e city hatch, it carried over the familiar three-door shape but with more power, sportier styling and a focus on driving character. The launch marked a turning point for Abarth, which had built its reputation on turbocharged petrol hot hatches.

In its early years the Abarth 500e was offered in both hatchback and convertible forms, with some markets branding it as the Scorpionissima for a limited-edition run. Updates focused on software improvements, charging refinements and small styling tweaks, but the core package remained the same. Abarth pitched it as a direct electric alternative to the outgoing 595 range.

Today the Abarth 500e is sold globally as a compact performance EV aimed at urban buyers. It fills the role of an entry-level hot hatch for the electric era while keeping the Abarth badge relevant.

The line-up currently starts at $11,660 for the 500 Esseesse and ranges through to $17,270 for the range-topping 500 Esseesse.
