As far as American small-sized pick-ups go (or normal-sized in Australia), the Tacoma is a far and away the leader of the pack, beating rivals such as the Chevy Colorado and Honda Ridgeline.

Built on a similar platform to the HiLux, the new-model Tacoma borrowed some Australian engineering for its latest model, which might explain why it continues to climb the sales charts. After all, we are ute specialists.

That said, we will likely never see the Tacoma in Australia -- I guess we just love Hiluxes too much.
