Toyota HiLux: How do I check if the chassis is bent?
Answered by Graham Smith · 25 Oct 2019

If it’s damaged you should be able to see it. But to be sure it needs to be put on a bedplate, so I would take it to a panel beater or a chassis aligner who should have the required equipment.

Toyota Camry Azura 2001: Why doesn't my car start on hot days?
Answered by Graham Smith · 08 Nov 2019

That’s very odd, I’m not surprised the Toyota people couldn’t find the answer. Take it to another mechanic and have them run a diagnostic check. If nothing shows up it’s probably going to be a case of replacing parts until you find the one that fixes it. In that case I would start with the ECM.

Toyota Camry 2018: Transmission problems
Answered by Graham Smith · 27 Sep 2019

It can be difficult to diagnose and fix a car when the problem is intermittent, it might not occur when the mechanic of technician is present to observe it. Follow Toyota’s advice and record instances with as much detail as you can. The more information you can gibe Toyota the better the chance of fixing the problem.

Toyota RAV4 2003: Why isn't my gearbox engaging?
Answered by Graham Smith · 20 Sep 2019

It could be the ECU, but I would think it’s more likely at that age that the transmission needs a rebuild. Have a transmission mechanic assess it for you.

Toyota Yaris 2008: Why aren't my brake lights working?
Answered by Graham Smith · 04 Oct 2019

As you can fix it by turning the car off it could be a computer problem, or something related to the computer. Take it to a mechanic and have it checked.

It would seem the engine has lost some of its performance. Have the engine, in particular the fuel system checked. It could be that the fuel-injectors are worn.
