Our 2006 Nissan Pathfinder has a problem with the fuel sender unit. When we purchased it in 2006 all was good, but a couple of years later the fuel sender unit was replaced under warranty. A couple of years later again the same fault occurred, but this time the fuel sender was not covered by the warranty. I have had all sorts of explanations from the dealer and Nissan, from the car not driven enough to it is a consumer item! When I asked what it would cost to replace I was told $1000-plus! I am fed up with the bad service I get from Nissan. Isn't it supposed to last the life of the vehicle? My next stop is Federal transport industry ombudsman. What else can be done so this does not happen again to unexpected motorists?
I have just bought a new 2015 Nissan Pathfinder Ti 4WD, which is covered by a three-year warranty. I am keen on taking out extended warranty for peace of mind. What are your thoughts on extended warranty on vehicles in general and with Nissan in particular?
I bought a 2005 Nissan Patrol less than two months ago from a Holden dealer. In the first week I noticed a few problems. The oil light stays on, the seat wobbles, and the engine shakes a bit more than it should. I took it back and they had it for a whole day to fix nothing and tell me they need to get parts. They said they'll call the next day to re-book the car in to get it fixed, but I never received a call. I went back and asked about it, but they still had not received the parts and they said they would call me again. Still there was no call. I have now figured out that the shake was due to the engine mounts being flogged out. They sold me a car with stuffed engine mounts. My statutory warranty ran out not that long ago and I know they won’t cover it under normal warranty, or will they?
