To celebrate the soon-to-be-released Forza Horizon 4, Oversteer was treated to a cruise down to Scarborough (63km south of Sydney) in some fancy metal.
As the new game is set in UK, all the cars in question were British, which included an Aston Martin V8 Vantage roadster, Bentley Continental GT convertible, Jaguar F-Type S, Rolls Royce Wraith, Range Rover Sport HSE and Mini Cooper S Highgate cabrio.
Starting at Ultimate Car Rentals in Sydney, our destination was the Scarborough Hotel where we would stop for lunch before driving back.
I was in the Rangie for the first stint, and the trip took us through the twisting roads of the Royal National Park. Thankfully, there were no mishaps, so no one will be appearing on a certain Facebook page.
Our convoy looked stunning and the only things more beautiful were the views from the Sea Cliff Bridge and then having the cars parked in the beer garden at the destination.
After lunch, it was time to head back and I was in the F-Type, which was much more suited to the bendy roads.
While the Aston was the loudest, the Jag wasn't too far behind with its supercharged V6 engine making all the right noises. It even got me thinking, why would anyone want the V8?
Back at Ultimate Car Rentals, we were greeted by a McLaren 720s wearing an Xbox livery and multiple consoles setup with Forza Horizon 4.
While I only got a small taste of what the new game has to offer, the gameplay didn’t feel all that different from Horizon 3, but that's not a bad thing.
The newest feature is the seasons changing between summer, autumn, winter and spring. All the 450 cars handle differently depending on the weather adding to the diffculty, however Horizon is still very much a game that anyone can enjoy.
This is a little bit embarrassing, but I found myself the only one left playing after everyone else was done. It gets you hooked.
There's still a lot to discover in the game, so I know what I'll be doing this long weekend and then you'll be able to read my full-thoughts about it.
Forza Horizon 4 is available on Xbox One and PC from the 2nd of October.
