Someone made an all-wheel-drive Silvia

2 min read

It’s rare to see anything new or unusual plied to Nissan’s Silvia chassis. From S12 to S15, every generation of the FR performance bargain has been modified by everyone, for everything.

Regularly seen with tyres ablaze sliding through apexes the S15 Silvia is a confirmed drift weapon. The S15 in question, however, may not be as tail happy as its peers.

Built by Head Turning Performance, the Sydney based workshop has lived up to its name. Once you see this Brilliant Blue (TV3) Silvia spinning up the front treads on an AWD dyno, your head will indeed be turning.

The very tricky, very unusual AWD conversion, courtesy of big brother R33 GTR, is not the only thing to make your head swivel.

The car is also fitted with the JDM big league engine swap package. The RB26/30, mating a 3.0-litre bottom end to the ever-amazing RB26 head, for maximum everything.

A swag of custom fabricated and off-the-shelf Hypertune (drool) parts keep the low mounted Precision turbo spinning while a Haltech ECU prevents it from pinging. The custom motor sings the song of its people via four inches of stainless exhaust.

While it looks stunning, we'd hate to try to find a lost bolt. (image credit: Hypertune/Facebook)

One of our favourite space savers, an electric power steering system, has also been fitted to ensure every precious inch of the engine bay is filled with glorious boost.

With the exterior not yet to the owners liking, soon to be replaced with the big boy map, we can’t wait to see what this thing can do.

We will keep you up to date with the build, but for now, hush up and listen to this baby croon.

Is an AWD Silvia awesome, or does it defeat the purpose of the iconic Nissan? Tell us what you think in the comments.
