Porsche's GT2 RS smokes 'Ring record!

Porsche's new rear-drive, twin-turbo 911 GT2 RS has set the record for the fastest rear-drive road-legal car to lap the Nurburgring Nordschleife!

The 6min 47sec time actually also beats the time set by their own hybrid hypercar, the 918 Spyder, by a stunning 10 seconds!

The German automaker had set a target of 7min 05secs, but blew that away by 18 seconds, despite wearing fully road-legal Michelin tyres. While debate rages about the effectiveness of manufacturers chasing records at the legendary German race track, the blistering pace of the GT2 RS's lap shows just what a devastatingly fast car it is.
