Toyota has announced a limited edition Altitude version of its LandCruiser Prado 4WD wagon, which brings more than $10,000 in extra features for just $5,000 more than the regular GXL diesel.Priced from $68,990, the GXL-based Altitude includes many features usually exclusive to the high-spec VX and Kakadu models. The Altitude adds a 7-inch touchscreen with satnav, high-grade instrument cluster, electric sunroof, front parking sensors (adding to the standard rears), privacy glass, and Altitude badging.Interior trim is now leather accented, and includes 14-speaker audio with a six-disc in-dash CD/DVD changer and remote control.Rear seat passengers gain a roof-mounted entertainment system, with DVD, 9-inch screen, and three wireless headphones. The system integrates with the dash-mounted screen, permitting control from either front seats or via remote control in the rear. The Prado Altitude will be available in five-door long-wheelbase only, with the 127kW/410Nm 3.0 litre turbodiesel/five speed auto drivetrain.Colour choice is limited to Crystal Pearl white, Ebony black, Silver Pearl, and Graphite grey.  All colours are available with a black interior, while white and black models can be specced with ivory trim. The Altitude’s extra features join the already useful list of GXL accoutrements, including three-zone climate control, proximity keys, seven airbags, seating for seven, and servicing is capped at $210 through Toyota’s Service Advantage scheme. The Altitude will be available from now until the end of June production. This reporter is on Twitter: @Mal_Flynn
