Almost one in five new vehicles sold in Australia in 2023 have been a ute. The modern ute comes in a variety of shapes, sizes and prices, which has helped it evolve from functional tool to a desirable alternative to an SUV or sedan.

Mahindra has made no bones about just where it expects its new ute to sit in The Australian dual-cab line-up, saying it wants to go after the mainstream players like the Toyota HiLux, Mitsubishi Triton, Nissan Navara and Ford Ranger.
