There are lots of reports about wear on the balance shaft and the timing chain. It is an issue and anyone contemplating buying a 2004-2006 model should be warned.
The V8 in the SRT8 sounds great but the core quality is no match for a Mercedes. If you like driving, the new GLE 63 would be my pick.
You would expect the revs to increase when you downshift to a lower gear whether the cruise is on or not. It’s normal for the cruise to stay on unless you hit the brakes or turn it off using the switch. You can overtake by using the wand on the steering column to increase your speed and then use it again to decrease it once you’ve overtaken and it will then resume the previously set speed. Also, if purchased from eBay is it really genuine, or re-boxed, or was it from a obsolete sale?"
The ML 350 will suit your needs.
