The McLaren 600LT was launched in 2018 as part of the British brand’s Sports Series range. The “LT” badge stood for Longtail, referencing earlier lightweight, track-focused McLarens. Based on the 570S, the 600LT gained more power, a longer body, and a stripped-down interior to cut weight. It was offered as both a coupe and a spider, with limited production numbers to keep exclusivity.
Over its short production run, the McLaren 600LT received minor updates rather than major revisions. Buyers could choose extensive customisation through McLaren Special Operations, including unique trims and track upgrades. The model sat below the Super Series cars but pushed close to their performance levels. Overseas, it carried the same 600LT name across all markets, without regional variations.
Today, the McLaren 600LT is no longer in production but holds a strong place in the brand’s history. It is remembered as one of the most engaging Sports Series models, bridging road and track use. In Australia, it remains a sought-after choice on the used market, competing with Porsche GT models and Ferrari’s entry-level cars. Its role has since been replaced by newer models in the McLaren line-up.
