The Azami LE is the new king of the Mazda CX-9 range with a list price of $66,490 – and it's only available in all-wheel drive.Standard features include an eight-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android auto sat nav, 12-speaker Bose stereo, Bluetooth connectivity, push-button ignition, three-zone climate control, adaptive LED headlights, front and rear parking sensors, leather seats, proximity key, power tailgate, sunroof, heated and ventilated front seats, heated second row window seats, heated steering wheel, a seven-inch centre digital instrument cluster, a 360-degree view monitor, windscreen de-icer and 20-inch alloy wheels. What separates the Azami LE and the Azami below it in the range is the real wood trim around the console, the nappa leather seats and the design of the overhead console – it's all a bit more special. The CX-9 scored the maximum five-star ANCAP rating when it was tested in 2016. The 2018 update added even more advanced safety tech and all grades now come with an impressive amount of advanced safety equipment including AEB (forward and rear), blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, lane keeping assistance, traffic sign recognition and adaptive cruise control with stop and go function. All Mazda CX-9s come with a 2.5-litre turbo-petrol four-cylinder engine which makes 170kW and 420Nm. With the six-speed automatic transmission Mazda says the CX-9 should consume 91 RON at 8.4L/100km in the front-wheel drive and 8.8L/100km in the all-wheel drive during combined driving conditions.
