The first ever Audi-sanitised Lamborghini may have had all-wheel drive and functional air conditioning but it is still regarded as a fierce beast.

Available with ‘e-shift’ automated manual or drool-worthy gated manual transmission, it had a 6.2-litre petrol V12 (that grew later to 6.5 litres) to intimidate its Ferrari contemporaries, while its distinctive styling with power-lifting cooling buttresses make it a true icon.
