Carnival brake failures, vibrating steering wheel

I have spoken to Kia and the company says it has replaced the steering rack and power steering and that it believes the car is operating correctly. It has not been able to identify any brake fault.

iMax or Carnival?

The iMax is reliable and would win in terms of storage space. The early Carnival with the V6 motor was troublesome, but the later one is quite reliable and could be bought with confidence.

Best budget people mover?

I would not recommend a Ssangyong of any type, without worrying about the ugliness of the Stavic. You'll be far better served by a second-hand Kia Carnival.

When will there be safety updates for Carnival?

The Carnival only got a four-star score from ANCAP in July because of excessive movement of the parking and foot-brake pedals, with a heightened risk of injury to the driver’s legs and feet. Work has been done and there should be a re-test early in 2016 with ANCAP with improved cars on sale in the first quarter.

Is a 2015 Kia Carnival S worth it?

I wouldn’t pay $6000 more for a 2015 model than I would for an equivalent 2014 model; the most I would pay would be $3000.

Best people mover for $15,000?

The Kia Carnival gets The Tick, every time, in that price range. And with four kids you will find that a proper people-mover gives far more flexibility than an SUV or even a converted van.
