Vying to win the world’s most exclusive calendar, entrants used wit, rhyme and – occasionally – reason to argue their case.  Justin Polites of Melbourne spelled out Carsguide with: ‘Great girls of Pirelli: C_hristy Turlington A_bbey Lee Kershaw R_achel Leigh Cook S _ophia Loren G_isele Bündchen jU_lia stegner I_sabeli Fontana, D_u Juan E_manuela_de_Paula’.

Rachelle Schloeffel treated the Pirelli brand in the same way, with: P_hotographs beyond compare I_nspirational backdrops R_eally exceptional camera work E_xcellent design L_ots of gorgeous, naturally beautiful women L_uxurious calendar from Pirelli I_ think this one's the best one yet!

Mark Anthony used the names of the models for inspiration with:  Miranda Kerr, Catherine McNeil, Abbey Lee KERSHAW, Stunning Aussie Supermodels GALORE, Marloes HORST, Dutch beauty with the MO(R)ST, Lily Cole, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Daisy LOWE, Best of British I KNOW … and a lot more along that line that we don’t have space for here.

Stuart Lovell quipped ‘Pirelli - handles the curves with ease once again!’, while Richard of Mentone pleaded that this was the only year in the past 10 of living with his partner that she had given permission for him to choose a calendar.

‘That is 10 excruciating years, or 3653 days, ( don't forget the leap years kiddies) of calendar's of fluffy animals, cupcakes, recipes, handbags …. I can think of no finer way to mark this occasion than by hanging the legendary, and lets face it artistic, Pirelli Calendar on my our wall for the next 12 months. Help me Carsguide you are my only hope.’

But after a very difficult judging process – which went all the way to Italy to decide between the finalists --  the Pirelli prize went to Kirsty Umback of Victoria, with:

I’m not a greedy woman, I’m a low key loving wife. But to own my own Pirelli calendar would really change my life. I’d treasure it forever, this truly is great art. Please don’t give this to some bloke … that would really break my heart.  Congratulations to Ms Umback, and thank you to all who entered this year – for providing a lot of wit along the way.
