New Toyota RAV4 Hybrid 2020: How long you'll have to wait for Australia's most popular SUV

The Toyota RAV4 Hybrid has been in-demand since its launch in May last year.

There are few new vehicles in Australia more in-demand than the Toyota RAV4 Hybrid mid-size SUV.

But in great news for buyers, the average waiting time for the most popular SUV on sale today has been significantly reduced.

Speaking to CarsGuide, a Toyota Australia spokesperson confirmed the RAV4 Hybrid’s average waiting time is now about three months, down from a peak of eight – although it was longer in some cases.

They added the longest waiting time currently faces examples of the Cruiser flagship grade fitted with beige leather-accented upholstery.

As reported, Toyota Australia aimed to reign in the RAV4 Hybrid’s average waiting time by securing 8000 additional units for this year, which are starting to arrive in dealerships now.

The Toyota Australia spokesperson said the extra stock will take a few months to fully come on stream, at which point they believe the average waiting time will be reduced even further, all while increasing dealer supplies.

For reference, the RAV4 Hybrid ranges in price from $34,490 to $44,990 plus on-road costs.
