Mazda’s flagship CX-90 SUV, and one of its newest additions to the brand’s line-up, has been quietly treated to a price-drop of thousands of dollars.

The 2025 Mazda CX-90 now starts from $68,800 before on-road costs, where it was previously a $74,800 offering. The upper-end of the range also no longer tops out over six figures, instead wrapping up at $92,570.

Mazda Australia recently updated the prices for most of its models with a small increase, as brands often do on occasion to cover increasing costs of doing business, but the price decrease applied to the CX-90 significantly outweighs it.

The pricing increases applied to the CX-90 recently were within a short step of $300, while the new price cuts amount to between $6000 and $7800. A full table with pricing changes can be found below.

Importantly, Mazda said no features have been removed from the CX-90 in the price drop.

A Mazda Australia spokesperson told CarsGuide the aim for the pricing decrease was to give customers better value.

“As our flagship large SUV, Mazda CX-90 is highly specified and comprehensively equipped. Pricing has been adjusted to offer customers even better value on this model.”

The Mazda CX-90 has been on sale in Australia since mid-2023, and in that time it hasn’t set the sales charts alight.

While Mazda’s CX-60 mid-size SUV sold 1584 during the first quarter of 2025, and the large CX-80 racked up 1283, the CX-90 has sold just 190.

The recently launched CX-70 rounds out the quartet with 83 sales to its name in Q1.

The CX-90 is available with a choice of two drivetrains across all its variants; either a petrol or diesel 3.3-litre turbocharged inline six-cylinder engine with 48-volt (mild-hybrid) assistance.
