China’s Lynk & Co has launched its 08 large plug-in hybrid (PHEV) SUV in Europe ahead of an expected launch in other markets, including Australia, in the near future.
In Europe there are two trim levels of the Lynk & Co 08 available, with pricing starting from €52,995, which converts to A$92,850 and extending to €56,995 (A$99,850).
For context, this model starts at 185,800 RMB (A$40,150) in China, and extends to 248,800 RMB (A$53,750)
Customer deliveries are set to commence in select European markets in July.
While this model will be badged as a Lynk & Co in Europe, previous comments have indicated this model may be introduced to Australia as a Zeekr.
Zeekr Australia General Manager William Zhou told CarsGuide in March 2025 that given the Lynk & Co brand now falls under Zeekr, a local launch is on the cards.
“For us here, in a right-hand-drive market, Lynk & Co previously didn’t have right-hand-drive products, so we’re working on that,” said Mr Zhou.
“Also, because in Australia we know that EVs stand for technology and innovation, but when it comes to daily use plug-in hybrids should be another major choice.
“So we’re confident the current product from Lynk & Co with petrol and hybrid technology will do really well in Australia, so we’re pushing to have Lynk & Co products, but under one brand, Zeekr.”
At this stage it’s still unclear whether this means the Lynk & Co branding will be retained in Australia, or if the models will be rebadged to Zeekr.
Lynk & Co and Zeekr were completely separate entities until November 2024, when their parent company, Geely, reorganised its shareholdings to place Lynk & Co under the control of Zeekr and divested Volvo’s share in the business.
At this stage no Lynk & Co model has been confirmed for right-hand-drive production, though it’s expected Australia may be the first.
With this in mind, the Lynk & Co 08 may be the first model to launch locally, and it’ll likely slot in as a PHEV alternative to the forthcoming Zeekr 7X.
The Lynk & Co 08 was first revealed in early 2023 and is based on Volvo’s compact modular architecture (CMA) like the Volvo XC40, Polestar 2 and a swathe of other Lynk & Co models.
It pairs a 1.5-litre four-cylinder engine with a 155kW/350Nm electric motor, a three-speed hybrid transmission and a massive 39.6kWh battery pack. Total system output is 257kW.
In Europe it’s claimed to be able to travel up to 200km on electric power alone, according to WLTP testing, and claimed total range is over 1000km.

It measures in at 4820mm long, 1915mm wide and 1685mm tall, with a 2848mm wheelbase. This makes it slightly larger than the likes of the BMW X4 and Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe.
