Subaru XV 2013: Using lots of oil?

One year ago I bought a brand-new Subaru XV. I notice I have to add over one litre of oil between services, which are 12,500km apart. Subaru service tells me this is normal.

It's totally normal for engines to consume a little oil and your consumption is well within acceptable limits. Far too many people ignore sensible checks of the oil level and tyre pressures these days.
